New Phone Help

Looking to join the smart-phone club. iphone or other? Your suggestions greatly appreciated.

Things I would would want in it:
- calling (minimal dropped calls, clear calls)
- music
- internet/ gps
- life management tools (calendar, notes, etc)
- cheap (phone and plan)
